Plan your study programme at Unicollege

Select your courses for Fall 2026 / Spring 2027. Standard load is 15 US credits per semester (each course = 3 US credits). Please rank at least 10 courses in order of preference — Unicollege will enrol you in the courses that fit your target credit load (15 or 12). The extra courses serve as backup in case any first-choice section is full or cancelled.

How many credits will you take?

Choose your target credit load. Most students take 15 credits per semester. A 12-credit load is permitted only with formal approval from your home university.

Before choosing a 12-credit load, verify the following with your home institution:
  • Written authorisation — the signed approval from your Education Abroad Office must be uploaded to the application file before enrolment.
  • Visa requirements (NON-EU students) — the Italian D-Type student visa requires a minimum of 12 credits per semester. Below this threshold the visa cannot be issued.
  • Federal financial aid (US students) — most US Title IV programmes require 12 credits to maintain full-time status. Confirm with your home Financial Aid Office before reducing the load.
  • ECTS recognition — 12 US credits = 24 ECTS. The standard European semester is 30 ECTS; some partner universities require 30 ECTS for full transfer recognition.
  • Tuition is calculated per credit - 12 credits × €400/credit = €4.800 (vs €6.000 for 15 credits). Application and processing fees are also lower in the 12-credit bracket. Housing and meal plan are charged on a full-semester basis regardless of credit load.

Housing assignment is confirmed by the Housing Team based on availability on a first-come, first-served basis — your preference is indicative and may be reassigned to ensure all students are housed.
